Porcupine Mountains Backpacking Description
Affectionately described as the most scenic hiking in the Midwest, this trip offers beginning hikers the opportunity to improve their skills while experiencing the amazing wildlife and scenery of Michigan's Porcupine Mountains. There is something for everyone on this trip - the breathtaking coastline of Lake Superior, countless waterfalls, and acres of shady forests.

Trip Difficulty: Level 2
Level 2 trips are basic backpacking and canoe trips. Experience the next level of wilderness skills as you help select campsites, operate and clean stoves, lead the group with a map and compass, take over some cooking duties, and extend your leave no trace abilities. Age-appropriate team elements and initiatives teach leadership, decision-making, and good judgment.
