Pennsylvania Wilds Horseback Riding Adventure Description
|
After an intense training at Camp Echo, you will head to the mountainous terrain of Central Pennsylvania by van to spend five full days on horseback and four nights gazing
at the beautiful stars - just the forest, mountains, horses, and newfound friendships.
While in Pennsylvania we will be using a professional outfitter. They will be supplying us with quality trail horses and helping to
lead us though the over 160,000 acres of unpopulated land near Wellsboro - home of the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon.
|
Trip Level: Basic Adventure Trip
|
Basic backpacking, canoeing, biking, and horseback riding trips.
Participants help select campsites, have more cooking responsibilities, and lead the group with a map and a compass.
The wilderness setting is slightly more remote; participants may be several hours from advanced medical care.
Participants are expected to be physically able to hike, canoe, bike, or horseback ride for about six hours a day over moderately difficult terrain.
Age-appropriate team elements and initiatives teach leadership, decision-making, and good judgment.
