Horseback Riding
Caring ... Honesty ... Respect ... Responsibility
One week of horseback riding instruction is available to Pathfinders, Main Campers, Explorers, and Voyagers for an additional fee payable with your camp fee.
To enroll, check the "Horse Lessons" box on the registration form.
Horseback riding instruction is very popular and there are limited spots.
There is no refund if a camper withdraws after arrival at camp; therefore, please do not sign up a child who dislikes, is afraid of, or is seriously allergic to horses or hay.
Two-week campers are assigned to first- or second-week lessons after arrival at camp.
Ranchers (Main Camp Only)
|
Experience all of the joys of Main Camp as you spend all of each morning receiving specialized riding instruction during both weeks.
To be in Ranchers, campers must have been in Riding Lessons at Echo for at least three years or the equivalent elsewhere.
|
Trail Rides and Ring Rides
|
A dozen trail or ring rides (10 to 14 campers per ride) are offered each week and any camper may sign up daily.
The cost of each ride is deducted from the camper's Trading Post account.
Rides are offered during Saska, Fun Swim, and Twilight Fun.
Most cabin groups will take an afternoon trail ride or horseback overnight. (Individual campers may opt out.)
There is no charge for cabin group horse activities.
Campers who discover the joys of horseback riding may then choose to take trial rides or horseback riding lessons the next week (if a spot opens up).
